College football fans can watch SEC Network without cable on five live TV streaming services this season.

DIRECTV STREAM, Sling TV, YouTube TV, Fubo, and Hulu Live TV all have SEC Network without the need of a cable or satellite subscription. You can also activate the ESPN app with a pay TV provider to watch SEC Network live on a Smart TV, streaming device like a Roku, P.C., Mac computer, smartphone or tablet. 

SEC Network has been entertaining sports fans since it launched on August 14, 2014. The network airs 21 sports from Southeastern Conference (SEC), including football games, men’s college basketball, women’s college basketball, softball, baseball, gymnastics, and volleyball.

DIRECTV STREAM, Fubo, Hulu Live TV and YouTube TV are the four live streaming services that have SEC Network and offer a free trial. 

How to Watch SEC Network

A Smart TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast or Apple TV support streaming SEC Network as a live cable TV channel.

Smart TVs by Samsung, Sony Bravia, Vizio and LG support most streaming services. Game consoles including XBox and PlayStation support watching TV.

If you are a sports fan in search of your ideal streaming service that has SEC Network, chances are you want other sports channels too.

ESPN, ACC Network (ACCN), Big Ten NetworkCBS Sports Network, and MLB Network cover college football, basketball, baseball games, and other professional sports. You will want SEC Network+, the digital platform, within the ESPN app too.

You can get many of these networks without having to pay for an sports add-on package.

Local channels will matter, too. You will need local broadcast networks such as ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX to watch NCAA football, and college basketball. 

Some of these services have a free trial that lasts a week without any obligation. Just remember to cancel before the trial ends if you decide that the streaming service isn’t for you.

Cord-cutters have a half dozen options to watch SEC Network live on their television or smartphone. Here is a detailed breakdown of each service, prices and plans. 

How much is SEC Network?

The price of SEC Network depends on which subscription you choose. As of September 2024, Sling TV remains the cheapest, but here is a full breakdown with lowest, or starting prices.

Sling TV

Sling TV is the cheapest option to stream SEC Network and the digital platform SEC Network Plus live. You have two ways to watch SEC Network without cable through Sling with the Sports Extra add-on.

The Sling Orange plan includes 32 channels, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3 and entertainment networks like AMC, A&E, Bravo, and History. A subscription to Sling Orange costs $40 per month.

You can likewise combine Sling Orange and Sling Blue for $55 per month, but Sports Extra costs another $15 per month. The combo bundle adds Big Ten Network, NFL RedZone, FS2, and Golf Channel to Sports Extra.

The Sling Blue plan has 40 channels, including Discovery, NFL Network, FS1, USA Network, and Stadium.  You can combine the Sling Blue with Sling Orange for $55 per month.

All subscribers get 50 hours of Cloud DVR storage. 

Sling TV works on just about any streaming device: Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and even an Xbox. It is supported by Samsung Smart TVs and Smart TVs operating on Android TV or Google TV. Sling TV supports mobile apps for iOS and Android.

There are no hidden fees or contracts if you decide to keep the service. Sling subscribers can activate the ESPN app after you sign up for service.

DIRECTV STREAM

DIRECTV STREAM (formerly AT&T TV) has SEC Network in three of its channel packages along with other cable networks important to college sports fans.

The Choice package has over 90 TV channels including ACC Network, ESPN, SEC Network, A&E, BET, Bravo, C-SPAN, CNN, CNBC, FOX News, MTV, History and HGTV.

All of these channel lineups are virtually identical to DIRECTV satellite service, but with a slight price difference.

All subscribers get unlimited Cloud DVR storage and 40,000 on-demand movies and shows. You can watch TV on unlimited screens within your home. 

DIRECTV STREAM works on Roku, Android TV, Fire TV devices, Apple TV and smartphones and tablets. You can use apps on supported Smart TVs running on Google TV and Android TV. Subscriptions run month to month and so you can cancel whenever you want.

Hulu no longer offers a free trial for live TV, but you can look over the channel lineup before deciding whether to sign up.

How to Watch SEC Network without cable FAQs

Here are some questions that sports fans ask when searching for ways to get SEC Network without cable or TV provider credentials. 

What is the SEC Network?

In the world of live college sports, SEC Network carries some huge events throughout the year. The sports network is owned by ESPN as part of a joint venture between The Walt Disney Company and Hearst Communications. Hearst has a 20 percent interest in the network.

NCAA football and men’s basketball out of the Southeastern Conference dominate the broadcast schedule in the fall. About 45 college football games air on SEC Network every year. There are about 100 men’s basketball games, 75 baseball games, and 60 women’s basketball games. 

Aside from live sports, SEC Network has studio shows with highlights of favorite sports.

How to get SEC Network on a Smart TV

Smart TV owners can download the apps for DIRECTV STREAM, Sling TV, YouTube TV, fubo, and Hulu Live TV. Before downloading your app, you can sign up online for a free trial, or month-to-month subscription. 

Can I watch SEC Network on the ESPN app?

You can stream SEC Network live through the ESPN app if you subscribe to the network through a cable, satellite or live TV streaming service. 

SEC Network, SEC Network Plus, ACC Network, ESPN2, Longhorn Network and others are available to subscribers within the ESPN app.

Hulu with Live TV, DIRECTV STREAM, YouTube TV, and Sling TV lets you use your membership to watch SEC Network live through the ESPN app.

On the ESPN app, scroll down on the homepage and look for the Channels tab. You will see a list of ESPN-related networks that you can live stream after you activate the app using your live TV service.

How to Watch SEC Network on Roku

Roku and Roku TV owners can subscribe to one of the six live TV streaming services that carry SEC Network: DIRECTV STREAM, fubo, YouTube TV, Hulu Live TV, and Sling TV.

Is there an SEC Network app?

There is no SEC Network app. Subscribers to a pay-tv provider can use the ESPN app to stream SEC Network and SEC Network+.

Is SEC Network on Peacock?

No. You will not find SEC Network on Peacock. But a Peacock subscription does give you live coverage to a variety of professional and college sports from NBC and NBC Sports. 

Sunday Night Football, Notre Dame football, Premier League, and the PGA Tour are among the live sports on Peacock.

Can you watch SEC Network on ESPN Plus?

No. ESPN+ is a standalone streaming service that has college football, daily MLB and NHL games and original programs for $10.99 per month. The service does not get you the SEC Network cable network.  

ESPN+ subscribers get hundreds of exclusive college football, NCAA basketball games and UFC fights.

Is SEC Network on Amazon Prime?

No. SEC Network is not on Amazon Prime. SEC Network is only available only through a cable TV, satellite service or a live TV streaming service. DIRECTV STREAM, Fubo, Hulu Live TV, Sling TV, and YouTube TV all include SEC Network in their channel lineups.

Does Paramount Plus have SEC Network?

Paramount Plus does not carry the SEC Network channel. But Paramount Plus with Showtime subscribers can watch “SEC on CBS” games, which also air on ABC. A subscription to Paramount Plus with Showtime is $10.99 per month following a free 7-day trial

Can I watch SEC Network on my computer?

Some Southeastern Conference games are scheduled to air on local ABC, FOX and CBS stations this season.

A decent TV antenna can get you those essential channels for free.

Head over to the Antennas Direct website and punch in your zip code to see what broadcast towers are near you. You will see a list of broadcast towers near your home, and even some recommended TV antenna models.

To get started with a TV antenna, plug it into the coax jack in the back of your TV and under settings scan for channels for OTA (over-the-air) or “Air TV”.

What’s the cheapest way to watch SEC Network without cable?
