What is Justified: City Primeval about?

Justified: City Primeval takes inspiration from the 1980 Elmore Leonard novel, “City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit.”

In the TV series, Givens is a U.S. Marshal living in Miami, focused on doing his best as a part-time father to his teenage daughter.

His days of being a lawman throughout the hollers of Kentucky are deep in his rear view. But Clement Mansell “The Oklahoma Wildman” has other plans for Givens after the two have a chance encounter.

When the Detroit police need help tracking the Wildman down, Givens is called in for the job – whether he likes it or not. Givens hunts Mansell throughout the Motor City, hoping to catch him before the violent sociopath can hurt anyone else.

But Givens biggest obstacle may be Carolyn Wilder, the Wildman’s formidable defense attorney. The lawman, lawyer and criminal may be on a collision course that none of them can control.

In addition to Olyphant’s return, Walton Goggins reprises his role as Boyd Crowder from the original series. Other cast members include Aunjanue Ellis, Nick Offerman, and Vivian Wu.

Vivian Olyphant stars as Givens’ daughter. She might be well-suited for the role given that she is Timothy Olyphant’s real-life daughter.
