How to Watch Bally Sports San Diego Without Cable

by Jim Kimble / Updated: March 3, 2022

Bally Sports San Diego used to be a lot easier to find on live TV streaming services back in the day of Fox Sports San Diego.

Now, DIRECTV STREAM is the only option for watching San Diego Padres games without a cable or satellite provider.

DIRECTV STREAM does cost more than competing services that live stream ESPN, or local channels and NBC.

The Choice plan, which carries 90+ channels, is $89.99 per month.

So if you’re looking to cut the cord, but still watch Padres games, you should consider whether the pros of watching Bally Sports San Diego without cable outweigh its cons.

DIRECTV STREAM still has one advantage over paying for DISH or Spectrum. You can subscribe month to month and cancel whenever you want.

You can sign up for a free 5-day trial without any obligations.

Subscribers get three months of HBO Max, Cinemax, Showtime and EPIX for free before the regular rate kicks in.

The Choice bundle has a wide variety of sports channels including ESPN, ESPN2, regional NBC Sports networks.

All of your local ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, Telemundo and Univision channels are included. And you get top cable TV channels such as HGTV, ACC Network, TNT, History, CNN and A&E.

Bally Sports San Diego is available throughout San Diego County, Imperial County, Coachella Valley, Las Vegas Valley, Southern Arizona and Hawaii.

What sports are on Bally Sports San Diego?

Bally Sports San Diego televises all home games of MLB’s San Diego Padres. Aside from Padres coverage, Bally Sports San Diego airs NBA games featuring the Los Angeles Clippers. NHL games featuring the Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Kings are also televised.

The NHL games are simulcast from Bally Sports West and Bally Sports SoCal, are blacked out in Imperial County.

Bally Sports San Diego does televise Arizona Coyotes games in Imperial County, simulcasting from its sister channel Bally Sports Arizona.

Stream Padres games live on Roku, Fire TV Stick

DIRECTV STREAM works on Roku, Google Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV devices, Apple TV, Samsung Smart TVs, smartphones and tablets.

Subscriptions run month to month so you can cancel whenever you want.

You can look over the different channel lineups before deciding whether to sign up.

Why can’t I stream Bally Sports San Diego on Hulu or YouTube TV?

There was a time when regional Bally Sports channels were available on a number of live TV streaming services. That included Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV, fuboTV and YouTube TV.

These streaming services have yet to strike a long-term agreement with Sinclair Broadcast Group since the company took ownership of 21 regional Fox Sports networks in 2019.
