Where can you Stream A&E?
A&E is available on Sling TV, Philo and Hulu + Live TV and fuboTV. None of these services require a cable TV subscription. You can use a Roku, Amazon Fire TV or Apple TV to watch on your television.
Live stream A&E Networks online
There are plenty of options to watch A&E to get your fix of Storage Wars or The First 48 without a cable subscription.
You don’t need Comcast, Spectrum, Cox, or anything else that comes with a triple-digit bill every month. Premium cable channels aren’t exclusive to cable or satellite TV companies anymore.
Here are my two favorites ways to live stream A&E.
Hulu with Live TV has a wider selection of channels, including key sports networks like ESPN, and entertainment networks including FX and Bravo. Look over Hulu’s channel lineup. Signing up makes a lot of sense if you already subscribe to Hulu’s on-demand service because it’s included with Live TV.
This guide will outline all the various ways to watch A&E without cable, and the advantages of various apps, streaming services and the A&E website. If you want to binge watch a particular show over the course of a week, you might want to consider tapping into free trial of a live TV streaming service.
What’s the difference between A&E Networks and the A&E channel?
A&E (previously known as the Arts & Entertainment Network) is the flagship channel to A&E Networks. The A&E Networks’ channels include Lifetime, History Channel, LMN, fyi, Crime and Investigation, Military History, LRW and Viceland.
A&E has remained one of the most popular premium channels out there. In this new golden age of television, A&E delivers a robust lineup of compelling shows like the pre-Psycho Bates Motel mixed with reality TV favorites like Intervention, and Nightwatch.
What are the most popular shows on A&E?
Below is a quick list of A&E’s most popular programs. Everyone has their own favorites. I’ve always enjoyed The First 48 because it was like a series of short mysteries being solved right in front of you. 60 Days In is a pretty eye opening experience, especially for participants who generally never had visited the county clink, but had some pretty firm opinions about the place. Storage Wars is fun because it can sometimes be an oddball, urban pig scramble.
- Accused: Guilty or Innocent?
- Biography Presents
- Ghost Hunters
- The Time is Now: Race and Resolution
- Born This Way
- Leah Remini: Scientology and The Aftermath
- The First 48
- Cold Case Files
- Storage Wars
- Bates Motel
- 60 Days In

Can I stream A&E shows online?
Sure. There are a few ways of going about this. You can watch some A&E shows for free on their website, but only an episode here and there. You shouldn’t expect to be able to stream a whole season of a top-rated show like 60 Days In or Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath.
The A&E website keeps their content fairly locked down for cable subscribers.
You could check out what Hulu or Netflix has on demand for older A&E shows. Amazon also offers some A&E shows for sale. But be aware that even when you buy a season, some episodes are unavailable. Make sure to double check before you buy. I’m assuming you’re going to want to avoid such problems if you’re going to plunk down any of your hard earned money.
Watch A&E without cable on Roku, Fire TV or Android
You may be familiar with using apps on streaming devices like a Roku, Amazon Fire TV or Chromecast.
There are two ways to watch A&E on a streaming device connected to your television. To watch a live stream of A&E, you can subscribe to a live streaming services like Philo, fuboTV and Sling TV. These services offer various bundles of channels over the Internet instead of a cable cord.
The second method is to stream on the A&E app. The app only gives you on-demand content. You can’t live stream A&E on the app. There are full seasons of some shows, but you’re probably better off with a subscription to Huluon-demand if you really want a comprehensive catalog of A&E shows.
You used to need a cable subscription to sign in to the A&E app to get full access to all of its programming. Now some live TV services like fuboTV, Philo and Hulu with Live TV give you the same access. These apps are known as TV Everywhere apps because you can watch shows, movies and sometimes even live streams when you’re at home or on the road.
Hulu with Live TV: Best way to watch A&E without cable
Hulu with Live TV has 65+ channels including A&E, History Channel, HGTV, CNN, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN News. You’ll also find more local NBC, ABC and FOX stations than any other live TV streaming service. And Hulu has a growing number of regional sports channels like NBCSN.
Hulu offers only one live TV channel bundle, which costs $54.99 per month and includes 50 hours of Cloud DVR.
But you’ll get access to its other on-demand subscription service of network TV shows and movies that people pay $5.99 and up for. All Hulu Originals like The Handmaid’s Tale and The Path are included with the live TV subscription as well. So you’re essentially getting two streaming services for the same price of a few other live TV streaming services offering A&E.
Look over the channel lineup for Hulu with Live TV and see what local channels and regional sports networks are offered in your area.
fuboTV, best choice for sports fans who want A&E
fuboTV is firmly rooted as a sports-first platform, but it has spent much of the last two years broadening its channel selection.
You will find A&E, Bravo, FX, FXM, FXX, and both National Geographic channels as part of the 110+ channel lineup
fuboTV is not as well known as its competitors, but it’s definitely been pushing hard to become a major figure in the streaming market. It became the first to broadcast select sporting events in 4K.
With a fuboTV subscription, you can activate the A&E app, which will allow you to unlock all of its on-demand content. In addition to a growing list of supported apps, fuboTV has also been testing a lookback feature for previously aired sporting events.
You can watch channels from fuboTV on a Roku, Fire TV or any other major streaming device.
If you stream fuboTV from a PC or Mac, you can also tap into on-demand shows and movies.
fuboTV offers a free trial for 7-days and prices their Premier subscription at $59.99 per month.
Watch A&E cheap with Philo
Philo is the newest live TV streaming service and the least expensive way to live stream A&E.
For $20 per month, subscribers get 58 channels, including AMC, Animal Planet, BBC America, Science Channel, Sundance TV, HGTV and Viceland.
You can use Philo on Apple TV, Roku TV and Amazon Fire TV devices. From a web browser, you can watch Philo on Mac computers, PCs, iOS devices and Android devices. There’s a Philo iPhone app too.
Subscribers can activate the A&E app using your Philo account, and even use your subscription to sign into TV Everywhere apps on other devices like Fire TV and Apple TV.
Sling TV: stream A&E shows live online
Sling TV is the best known streaming service out there. The Sling Orange package gets you A&E as part of a 34+ channel package for $30 per month. It’s definitely a cheaper route to get your fix of Storage Wars or any other new season of A&E instead of Comcast or Spectrum.
Other channels in the Sling Orange package include HGTV, TBS, ESPN, History Channel and IFC. You can try out Sling TV for free during a 7-day trial.
I have been a Sling TV customer and they have a solid streaming service for the price point. And the company has proven itself over time. Sling TV is the oldest company that has offered a way to watch A&E without cable.
If you don’t already own a streaming device, Sling TV has a few offers to get either a free or discounted device. Pre-pay for two months of Sling TV, and you can get an Amazon Fire Stick for free.
Is Live PD still on A&E?
A&E and MGM’s Big Fish Entertainment decided to cancelLive PD on June 11.
Live PD was taken off the air and put on hiatus following George Floyd’s death. Producers of the reality series saw no path forward for the series to continue as protesters and politicians called for major reforms for police departments around the country.
Can I watch A&E on YouTube TV?
YouTube TV does not carry A&E. But YouTube TV is adding a number of ViacomCBS networks. Those networks include BET, CMT, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, TV Land, VH1, BET Her, MTV2, Nick Jr., NickToons, TeenNick and MTV Classic.
What’s the best way to watch or stream A&E online?
Philo is the cheapest option to watch A&E without cable at $20 per month. You can quickly sign up for a free trial by using your mobile number. You will get 58 channels including A&E, HGTV, AMC and Comedy Central. There is unlimited Cloud DVR and no contracts.
Hulu with Live TV is the way to go if you want to live stream A&E and a watch a deep library of on-demand shows from the network. You’ll get 60+ live TV channels and unlimited access to Hulu’s on-demand library that people pay $5.99 and up for. So you’re getting two streaming services in one for $54.99 per month.
