You don’t have to lose TNT in your channel lineup if you get rid of cable.

Nobody wants to be missing episodes of Animal Kingdom or NBA basketball. The truth is there are plenty of ways to get a TNT live stream into your home. You can watch it on Roku or other streaming device, or with your smartphone or online with a PC.

TNT was originally set up to just play spillovers from its sister channel TBS. But now TNT is a go-to destination for its own hit shows like The Last Ship, Good Behavior and even March Madness.

This guide will show you all the ways to watch TNT shows, including what’s available on the TNT app, streaming services and the TNT website. TBS now has comedies ranging from the noir-infused “Search Party” and Samantha Bee’s weekly late-night show. TNT has focused on drama with shows like Animal Kingdom, The Last Ship and Good Behavior. TNT also remains a key channel for sports fans.

Can I live stream TNT shows online?

Sure. You have a couple of options to stream TNT shows. It all really depends on what exactly you’re looking for.

With Animal Kingdom, you can currently watch five episodes from Season 2 on the TNT app. But those episodes might not hang around forever.

Want to watch all of Season 1? Then you will need to go to Amazon Video for that. Amazon Prime subscribers can watch the whole season. Amazon has a free 30-day trial of Prime, which gives you scores of on-demand movies, TV shows and free two-day shipping.

Having access to the app can be handy if you’re playing catch up with a certain show. But I wouldn’t rely on it to get me everything I want. TNT also does have a cool feature where users can live stream TNT East and TNT West. But you need some kind of pay-TV subscription to access this feature.

Like a lot of apps, TNT limits what’s available for free, and gives more access to people with pay-TV subscriptions. But you don’t need a cable subscription to companies like Comcast or Spectrum anymore. A couple live streaming services gives you access to TV Everywhere apps as part of a subscription.

Watch TNT live stream without cable on Roku, Fire TV or Android

If you own a Roku, Amazon Fire TV device or Chromecast, you have a couple of options to stream TNT shows on your TV.

To watch a live stream of TNT, you can subscribe to a platform like DirecTV Now, Sling TV, PlayStation Vue or Hulu with Live TV

The second method is to live stream a show directly from the TNT app. That might only make sense when you are away from home and want to watch a new show or live stream an NBA game as it airs.

Or, you might be living somewhere on the west coast, and want to catch a particular show that’s playing on TNT East. The app can be handy for that and give you an extra live channel that you weren’t getting from your pay-TV or cable subscription.

TNT also has some decent movies to watch on its app. Right now, TNT has the first six Star Wars movies available. So are the Hunger Games movies and The Bourne Identity movies. The app has a schedule and spotlight section worth checking out to give you a better idea of what to watch.

Best way to live stream TNT channel

DirecTV Now is currently the best value for watching TNT without cable.

A subscription lets you live stream the channel either from home on your Roku, or on the go using a smartphone or tablet. Along with the live stream, you will also get some on-demand content from TNT as well.

The entry-level “Live a Little” package is only $35 per month for 60+ channels, including TNT. You will also get channels like A&E, HGTV, History Channel, Lifetime, Viceland and MTV.

DirecTV Now works on Roku, Android TV, Fire TV devices, Apple TV and smartphones and tablets.

You can look over the different channel lineups or sign up for a free 7-day trial.

During my testing of DirecTV Now, I was impressed with their selection of on-demand movies. There are also roughly 40 channels that offer a 72-hour rewind feature on streaming devices. The only downside of DirecTV Now is that they haven’t fully rolled out their Cloud DVR feature. Right now, it’s in beta testing with a limited amount of customers. It’s expected to be available to all customers by the end of the year.

Sling TV, a budget choice for TNT live streaming without cable

Sling TV is one of the most popular streaming platforms out there for live TV. You can get a TNT live stream with either one of their channel bundles.

Sling Blue subscribers get 45 channels for $25 per month with extras like FXX, regional sports networks from FOX, National Geographic and NBC. Sling TV has Cloud DVR for an extra $5 per month.

Check out either channel bundle with a free trial for 7-days

You will get about 50 hours of DVR space. You can add on more channels through various channel bundles focused on sports  and premium movie channels.

If you’re thinking about getting a new streaming device, Sling TV has a few offers that can either get you one for free or at a significant discount. Prepay for two months of Sling TV and you can get a Roku Express.

Prepay for three months, and get half off on a Roku Premiere+ or a AirTV Player + Adapter Bundle. Air TV Player is a 4K streamer made to combine Sling TV and over-the-air local channels.

Can I get a TNT live stream on PlayStation Vue?

Yes. With the entry-level Access channel bundle, TNT and TBS are included in your subscription. The Access channel bundle is $40 per month. Animal Planet, BBC America, Discovery Channel and ESPN are part of the channel lineup.

PlayStation Vue is among the few live streaming platforms that let you use your subscription to sign in to the TNT app. PlayStation Vue works on Roku, Fire TV and other major streaming devices. You can try a free 5-day trial without obligation. Read my comparison guide Sling TV vs PlayStation View: the definitive guide for an in-depth comparison.
