NHL fans can watch Pittsburgh Penguins games without a cable TV or satellite subscription.

Pittsburgh Penguins fans who live within the team’s home market can watch games on SportsNet Pittsburgh. (AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh was sold earlier this year.) 

You can catch a majority of out-of-market Pittsburgh Penguins games live on ESPN+. This streaming service, available for $10.99 per month, provides access to NHL Power Play. There are two separate live streams for out-of-market games. There are more than 1,050 out-of-market games this season.

Fubo and DIRECTV STREAM are your two options to catch games on the rebranded SportsNet Pittsburgh, the regional sports network that carries all in-market Pittsburgh Penguins games. These services also offer other key hockey channels, including ESPN, TNT, and local broadcast channels such as ABC.

TNT remains a key channel for national broadcasts. There will be four Pittsburgh Penguins games simulcast on ABC during the 2023-24 season.

Regional sports networks have been undergoing significant changes recently, with consolidations, closures, and even bankruptcy proceedings.  

Fenway Sports Group purchased AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh from Warner Bros. Discovery. The deal was announced in August 2023, and the network changed its name in October.

If you are a sports fan or cord-cutter in search of your ideal streaming service that has Penguins home games, chances are you want other sports channels too. NFL Network, FS1, ESPN2, CBS Sports Network, SEC Network, NBA TV, and Golf Channel are now accessible without cable thanks to a wave of cord-cutting.

Fubo and DIRECTV STREAM have their pros and cons when it comes to streaming.

Both of these services carry local broadcast networks such as ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX and have a free trial. Just remember to cancel before the trial ends if you decide that the streaming service isn’t for you.

Are there any Pittsburgh Penguins games on ABC?

Yes. There are four Pittsburgh Penguins games that will be simulcast on ABC during the 2023-24 season. The first game is Saturday, March 9, 2014 against the Boston Bruins. You can watch these four games for free if you have a TV antenna, and live within range of a local ABC station.

No, SportsNet Pittsburgh is not available on YouTube TV. YouTube TV offers a wide range of live TV channels and unlimited cloud DVR storage for recording games and other content, but SportsNet Pittsburgh is not among its offerings.

Can I watch SportsNet Pittsburgh on Hulu Live TV?

Unfortunately, SportsNet Pittsburgh is not included in Hulu Live TV’s channel lineup. Hulu Live TV offers live streaming of major sports events and access to their extensive streaming library, but it does not carry this specific channel.

Is SportsNet Pittsburgh offered on Sling TV?

No, SportsNet Pittsburgh is not available on Sling TV either. Sling TV is known for its customizable channel packages and affordability, but it does not feature this particular regional sports network. To catch the Penguins in action, you’ll need to look into DIRECTV STREAM or Fubo, which do carry SportsNet Pittsburgh.
