Is there a Paramount Plus Sports Package?
There is not a specific sports package or sports channels with Paramount Plus. But the two Paramount Plus plans have different levels of access to live sports.
How much is Paramount Plus?
The Essential plan costs $4.99 per month. You will not get a local live CBS station, but you can watch live NFL games, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League.
For soccer fans, Paramount Plus is the exclusive home of English-language coverage for every UEFA soccer club.
The Premium Plan cost $9.99 per month. Subscribers get access to all live sports and a live local CBS station.
Live sports under the Premium plan includes:
- SEC football on CBS
- NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship
- PGA TOUR
- The PGA Championship
- The Masters
- Combate Global MMA
An annual subscription to the Essential plan is $49.99 per year, or $99.99 per year an annual subscription to the Premium plan. Paying for an annual subscription gets you a 16 percent discount compared to the monthly rate.
How much is Paramount Plus with Showtime?
Paramount Plus also gives you the option of adding SHOWTIME.
The Essential plan with Showtime costs $11.99 per month or $119.99 per year.
The Premiere plan with Showtime costs $14.99 per month or $149.99 per year. The annual plan with Showtime gives you 28 percent off compared to the monthly rate.
Having Showtime adds live boxing events throughout the year. But otherwise you won’t find as many live sports as Paramount Plus itself.
Paramount Plus says it carries more than 1,000 live sporting events per year, including regular season games, playoffs, and championships.
Regardless of which plan you choose, subscribers can watch up to three simultaneous streams. Plans can run month to month so there are no contracts. You can cancel online whenever you like.
For game highlights and analysis, you can watch CBS Sports HQ, the live news channel that’s on 24/7.

How do I watch live TV on Paramount Plus?
Paramount Plus has a “Live TV” tab under the main menu where you will find NFL games, SEC on CBS and the PGA Tour.
But it’s not the only place for live sporting events. You can find soccer matches under the Sports tab under the main menu. Premium plan subscribers will find a live local CBS station under the Live TV tab.
How can I watch NFL games on Paramount Plus?
Paramount Plus subscribers get a live stream of NFL games that air on CBS. NFL games are available to Essential plan and Premium plan subscribers.
Here is how to watch NFL games:
- Sign up for a free trial to Paramount Plus online and choose a plan if you don’t already have one.
- Download and open the Paramount Plus app on a Smart TV, Chromecast, Roku, Amazon Fire TV or Apple TV.
- Under the main menu, go to the “Live TV” tab to start watching the NFL game when game time begins.
Can I stream NFL games live with the Essential plan?
Yes. The Essential Plan lets you watch live NFL games without a cable subscription. When the game starts, you can head over to the “Live TV” tab, and start watching a football game.
Once the game is over, you will no longer have access to the live CBS broadcast. Only Premium plan subscribers get a CBS live stream with NFL games.
Does Paramount Plus have all NFL games?
No. Paramount Plus only carries games that air on CBS.
To watch every NFL game this season, you would still need ESPN, FOX, ABC, and Amazon Prime Video for Thursday Night Football. The new streaming service NFL+ allows you to watch games in your area, but only on a smartphone.
Does Paramount Plus have live football?
Yes. Paramount Plus carries live NFL games that are on CBS. The streaming service also has SEC on CBS under the Premium plan.
Is college football on Paramount Plus?
Yes. Subscribers to the Premium plan on Paramount Plus can watch SEC on CBS.
The 22 games scheduled for 2022 are also broadcast on CBS. SEC on CBS starts on Sept. 17 with Auburn hosting Penn State at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Can I watch CBS Sports Network on Paramount Plus?
CBS Sports Network is not on Paramount Plus as a live cable TV channel. But there are some live sports that are broadcast on CBS Sports Network, which also stream live on Paramount Plus.
UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League are available on Paramount Plus with the Essential plan. NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship and the PGA TOUR is available to Premium plan subscribers on Paramount Plus.
How to sign into CBS Sports app with Paramount Plus
One perk I recently discovered is that you can sign in to the CBS Sports app with a Paramount Plus account. You just need to scroll to the bottom of the screen to find the tab for signing in with Paramount Plus.
When you log in with Paramount Plus, it’s basically adding all of the coverage you already have to the CBS Sports app.
You won’t be able to get a live stream of the CBS Sports Network by signing in with a Paramount Plus account. You still need either a cable TV provider or a live TV service such as DIRECTV STREAM, fuboTV or YouTube TV.
Can I watch Champions League on Paramount Plus?
Yes. Subscribers to the Essential plan can watch UEFA Champions League matches. Under the Sports tab, you can find listings of upcoming live matches and match replays.
When are Champions League replays available on Paramount Plus?
After a live Champions League match ends on Paramount Plus, you can watch a match replay.
- Head over to the shows tab, and click the tab for UEFA Champions League. You can do the same for UEFA Europa League, or UEFA Europa Conference League.
- Scroll down below the “Live Schedule” queue and find “Match Replays”.
- Click on the soccer match you want to watch.
Can I watch Europa League on Paramount Plus?
Yes, Paramount Plus carries all UEFA Europa League matches in the U.S. You can subscribe to the Essential plan and watch the matches live. You can also watch a “match replay” later if you miss the live steam.
Can I Watch the PGA Tour on Paramount Plus?
Yes. Subscribers to the Premium plan can watch PGA Tour coverage that airs on CBS. But full coverage of PGA Tour tournaments is on ESPN+ and Golf Channel.
Can I Watch NBA games on Paramount Plus?
No. CBS and its parent company, Paramount Global, currently do not have rights to NBA games in the U.S.
Nationally televised games air on ABC, ESPN, and TNT. You can also stream games with a subscription to NBA TV.
Depending on the team you follow, regional NBC Sports networks, Bally Sports networks, YES Network, Altitude, AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain, AT&T SportsNet Southwest and MSG Network will be crucial for you to live stream NBA games all season.
How to Watch March Madness on Paramount Plus
You can watch some, but not all, of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament on Paramount Plus.
Premium Plan subscribers can watch all March Madness games that air live on CBS. So you won’t get access to games that are on TNT, TBS and TruTV, which are owned by WarnerMedia.
But if you were looking for a cheaper way to watch all March Madness games, you could sign up for Paramount Plus Premium plan along with a Sling TV Blue plan.
Some people don’t like signing up for more than one streaming service to watch sports. But, in this case, you can save a few bucks.
Sling Blue costs $40 per month, and gets you TNT, TBS and TruTV. Sling TV does not carry local CBS stations so Paramount Plus can cover that for another $9.99 per month.
At roughly $45, that gets you one of the cheapest ways to watch all March Madness games.
Where can I watch Paramount Plus?
Paramount Plus has apps for Smart TVs with Android TV and Google TV software. Smart TVs from LG, Samsung and Vizio are supported. Any Fire TV Edition Smart TV or Roku TV works as well.
You can watch Paramount Plus on the web, through a Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast or Apple TV streaming device. Android smartphones or tablets, iPhones, iPads, PlayStation and Xbox games consoles are also supported.
Is Paramount Plus worth it for sports?
Paramount Plus is an affordable way to get sports coverage from local CBS stations and soccer from CBS Sports.
NFL fans can get football games on CBS for $4.99 per month.
College football and golf fans will have to spend a little more to get their live sports. But it’s a solid option for the price.
I didn’t even dive into TV shows or the thousands of movies Paramount Plus has been adding to its service since last year. It will also be the home where “Top Gun: Maverick” will debut on streaming.
There are a couple of similarly priced streaming services that stream live sports.
ESPN Plus now costs $9.99 per month. The service streams less popular college football divisions such as the Big 12.
Soccer coverage on ESPN Plus includes LaLiga, MLS, Bundesliga and EFL Championship. ESPN Plus has full coverage of the PGA Tour. There are also UFC Fight Night, PPV fights and Top Rank boxing. Daily MLB and NHL games are part of any subscription.
Peacock costs $4.99 for the Premium plan (with ads). The service has Premier League, MLB games every Sunday, Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2022, Sunday Night Football, horse racing, WWE, Indycar, Tennis, Motorsports, and Rugby are included in the Premium plan. Peacock has a free 7-day trial for new subscribers.
By comparison, Paramount Plus may have fewer live sporting events, but a couple of core must-haves that make it worthwhile.
