How to Stream Bally Sports South Live Without Cable

by Jim Kimble / Updated: March 22, 2022

You can still watch Bally Sports South without the long-term commitment of cable TV.

But streaming Atlanta Braves or Atlanta Hawks games isn’t as easy as it used to be. DIRECTV STREAM is the only option for watching in-market MLB and NBA games without a cable TV or satellite provider.

How to Watch Bally Sports South Without Cable

DIRECTV STREAM does cost more than competing services that live stream ESPN, or local channels such as NBC.

The Choice plan, which carries 90+ channels, is $89.99 per month. You get unlimited Cloud DVR for recording TV shows and sporting events.

You don’t need a cable or satellite receiver box. And there are no added fees for the regional sports channels.

So if you’re looking to cut the cord from cable TV, you should consider whether the pros of streaming Bally Sports South outweigh its cons.

DIRECTV STREAM still has one advantage over paying for a cable TV bundle. You can subscribe month to month and cancel whenever you want.

You can sign up for a free 5-day trial of DIRECTV STREAM without any obligations.

Subscribers can get three months of HBO Max, Cinemax, Showtime and EPIX for free before the regular rate kicks in. The Choice bundle has a wide variety of sports channels including SEC Network, NBA TV and MLB Network.

All of your local ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, Telemundo and Univision channels are included. And you get top cable TV channels such as HGTV, TNT and History.

Where can I watch Bally Sports South?

Bally Sports South is only available in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Bally Sports South carries regular season games of the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Hawks. But you need to live within the home market of Bally Sports South to get the channel.

Stream Bally Sports South live on Roku, Fire TV Stick

DIRECTV STREAM works on Roku, Google Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV devices, Apple TV and Samsung Smart TVs.

You can also watch live TV on up to 20 screens at once, including smartphones and tablets.

You can look over the different channel lineups before making any decisions.

Why can’t I stream Bally Sports South on Hulu or YouTube TV?

There was a time when regional Bally Sports channels were available on a number of live TV streaming services. That included Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV, fuboTV and YouTube TV.

These streaming services have yet to strike a long-term agreement with Sinclair Broadcast Group since the company took ownership of 21 regional Fox Sports networks in 2019.

This is very unfortunate that HULU no longer carries Fox Sports South. Hope they strike a new deal soon. Has anyone found a cheaper alternative to subscribe to Fox Sports South?

The 2021 Baseball season is getting close. Is YoutubeTV in talks with Sinclair about carrying Fox SportSouth so we can watch the Braves like last year?

I read an article yesterday that indicated Sinclair is more focused on developing the FOX Sports app and possibly launching its own streaming service in late 2021. That doesn’t help for MLB season.

I’m monitoring things and will update these guides once I know something else is happening.
