What happened to Viceland?
Viceland was renamed to Vice TV in February 2020, but has essentially kept its format of edgy documentaries and reality shows. The channel is part of the A&E Network, which also owns History, Lifetime, A&E, LMN, fyi, Crime and Investigation, Military History, and LRW.
Shows on VICE TV
There is still plenty of Action Bronson around. And there is “Beerland,” and “Vice News Tonight.” But there are a new slate of shows on Vice TV this season, including:
- “The Dark Side of the Ring” has been the breakaway hit documentary series that captures controversial figures and events within professional wrestling. The second half of Season 3 is about to kick off. The first half of Season 3 already covered stories about The Dynamite Kid, Jake the Snake and the Ultimate Warrior.
- “The Dark Side of the 90s” chronicles both cultural subterfuge and important narratives at the end of the 20th century. The series takes on the rise of daytime talk television “Trash TV” and how “Grunge and The Seattle Sound” took over while an east-versus-west battle brewed in the Hip Hop world.
- “Betraying the Badge” serves up stories about those who were sworn to serve and protect, but instead turn to bribery, corruption and even murder.
- Season 2 of “Black Market,” the unscripted series led by the late Michael K. Williams, is now available on-demand through Philo and other streaming services. Much of the second season was recorded before Williams passed away at age 54.

The last time I tested the service, DTVN did not have full seasons of every show on Viceland. That may have changed. But right now, I would give you a soft “no.”
