How to Watch The Walking Dead Without Cable

By Jim Kimble on January 26, 2021 9:27 pm

When is The Walking Dead coming back on?

walking-dead-without-cable

The Walking Dead returns on Sunday, February 28 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC. New episodes will debut earlier on AMC+, a new streaming bundle, on Thursdays. AMC+ is available on Amazon Channels, The Roku Channel, Sling TV and Apple TV Channels.

Watch The Walking Dead Season 10 Without Cable on AMC

Philo is the least expensive way to stream The Walking Dead live without cable.

A subscription costs $20 per month, and has 63 live TV channels. Philo works on Roku, Amazon Fire TV Stick, Apple TV and Google Chromecast with Google TV.

You can quickly sign up for a free 7-day trial of Philo in under a minute using your mobile number. You’ll get networks such as A&E, HGTV and Investigation Discovery.

If Philo isn’t for you, keep reading.

Watching Season 10 of The Walking Dead live without cable is pretty easy. And so isn’t catching up on old episodes. You don’t need to subscribe to cable or become a cord cutting expert if you want to start watching TWD from Season 1.

This definitive guide takes you through all your options step by step. The Walking Dead is one of the easiest of AMC’s shows to binge watch.

How to watch Season 10

To get AMC without cable, you can tap into a number of live TV streaming services.

All of these services require an Internet connection because you are live streaming channels online instead of having them routed into your home over a cable cord or satellite feed.

If you’re paying a lot for Internet, or have recently been quoted a high rate, read my guide on how to get Internet without cable at a decent price.

How to stream Season 1 through Season 9 of The Walking Dead

The cheapest way to catch up on Seasons 1 through 9 of The Walking Dead is with a Netflix subscription. Given that there are more Netflix subscribers than cable subscribers in U.S. households, there’s a good chance you already have most of the shows available to you.

Hey listen, I understand not everyone is a Netflix-head. There are plenty of people out there who happily chug along in their TV viewing life with an antenna and an OTA DVR. Nothing wrong with that.

Amazon is an alternative to stream Seasons 1 through Season 9 of The Walking Dead. An episode of The Walking Dead goes for about $3 these days. Apple TV fans can do the same through the iTunes store.

But really, Netflix is the best value to binge watch earlier seasons.

Streaming Netflix in HD costs between $13.99 per month. Netflix works on just about any major streaming device like a Roku or Amazon Fire TV. So even if you signed up for only a few months, your cost would be much less than buying full seasons.

Watch The Walking Dead without cable on Sling TV

Sling TV has the AMC channel in both of its main channel bundles.

You can subscribe to either the Orange or Blue bundle for $30 per month.

Sling Orange has AMC, A&E, History Channel, ESPN, and HGTV.

Sling Blue carries 47+ channels, including AMC, NFL Network, HGTV and Nick. Jr.

A subscription includes 10 hours of Cloud DVR. You can upgrade to 50 hours of Cloud DVR for another $5 per month.

You can look over the channel lineup or sign up for a free 3-day trial. Sling TV will give you a free streaming device if you prepay for a brief subscription.

AMC+ for TWD: Season 10 Early Access

AMC+ is a new streaming service that has early access to Season 10 of The Walking Dead. The service is only available on Sling TV, Amazon Prime Channels, Apple TV Channels and The Roku Channel. There are no prior seasons of TWD, but it does have Season 10. AMC+ costs $8.99 per month.

fuboTV: Watch The Walking Dead Without Cable

fuboTV’s “family plan” has 120+ channels, including AMC, ESPN and Disney Channel.

FS1, FS2, CBS Sports Network, NFL Network, Golf Channel, A&E, History and Travel Channel are included.

fuboTV has 250 hours of Cloud DVR and a “lookback” feature which is similar to an on-demand option for games that aired in the last 72 hours.

Subscribers get a deep library of on-demand movies and TV shows. And you can activate up to 40 TV Everywhere apps, including the AMC app.

Look over the channel lineup in your area to see what local channels and regional sports networks are included.

You can sign up for a free 7-day trial with no obligations. A subscription costs $64.99 per month.

Philo: Watch The Walking Dead live stream

The least expensive way to watch a live stream of The Walking Dead on AMC is through Philo.

Subscribers get 63 live TV channels, including AMC, A&E, Animal Planet, AMC, BBC America, Comedy Central, History, Nickelodeon, Travel Channel and Sundance TV.

Philo is available on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV devices and has an iPhone app. You can also watch on supported web browsers on Android devices, Macs and PCs.

There’s limitless Cloud DVR and on-demand for the majority of shows.

You can also use Philo to activate the AMC app to catch up on prior episodes of The Walking Dead.

Philo has TV Everywhere support for almost every channel that it carries, so you can even use your login credentials to authenticate apps on other devices like XBox One.

Sign up for a free trial of Philo with your phone number. You can also check out Philo’s channel lineup.

Watch TWD Online on YouTube TV

YouTube TV has AMC. For $64.99 per month, YouTube TV offers 85+ channels, including USA Network, FX and IFC.

YouTube TV works on every major streaming device, including Roku and Amazon Fire TV.

You can check out a free trial with YouTube TV if you’re a new customer.

Is The Walking Dead on Hulu?

No. The Walking Dead is not available on Hulu. It’s also not available on Hulu with Live TV. That may change at some point. But for now, Netflix has the rights to stream Seasons 1 through 9.

What’s the best way to live stream The Walking Dead?

Philo is the best choice for watching The Walking Dead without cable because you can’t beat the price.

So long as you have a Roku, Fire TV Stick or Cube, Apple TV or Google Chromecast, you can live stream TWD on your TV. You can do a quick signup with Philo to get a free week-long trial.

Sling TV also has a free 3-day trial. Sling TV’s Orange and Blue plan has AMC and dozens of other channels for $30 per month. If you prepay for a brief subscription, Sling TV will give you a free streaming device.
