How to Watch NFC Championship Live: Packers vs Bucs

By Jim Kimble on January 21, 2021 6:12 pm

When is the NFC Championship game?

When the Green Bay Packers host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, even casual NFL fans will want to see whether Tom Brady makes it to Super Bowl 55 without the New England Patriots.

  • Date: Sunday, Jan. 24
  • Time: 3:05 P.M. ET
  • Channel: FOX
  • Watch: fuboTV or Hulu + Live TV

Stream NFC Championship Live Online

There are two solid ways to watch the 2021 NFC Championship on FOX for free without cable.

Either hook up a TV antenna and enjoy your local FOX station for free like an old school cord cutter. Option number two is to try out a live TV streaming service, and stream a local FOX station on a Roku, Apple TV, or Amazon Fire TV Stick.

Hulu with Live TV and fuboTV are among the best live TV streaming services for streaming FOX because of their channel lineups, features and perks.

Hulu has 65+ live TV channels, including ESPN and local ABC and CBS stations. You can sign up for a free 7-day trial trial even if you already subscribe to Hulu’s on-demand service.

fuboTV has 120+ channels, and also has ESPN, local channels and a huge entertainment library. It likewise has a free 7-day trial without any contracts or obligations.

Both live TV services work with Smart TVs, Roku, Amazon Fire TV Stick, Apple TV and Google Chromecast with Google TV.

Hulu and fuboTV are not your only choices. So here’s a quick primer in advance of Sunday’s big game.

Watch Packers vs Bucs free with a TV antenna

There’s a pretty good chance that you can watch the game on FOX in High Definition for free by using a TV antenna.

With an antenna, you can also get NBC, ABC, CBS and other channels in HD.

To get started, type your zip code into a free online tool like AntennasDirectto see if there’s a FOX broadcast tower near you.

Once you figure out whether you need an indoor or outdoor TV antenna, plug it into the coax port labeled “Air TV” or “over-the-air TV”. Then scan for channels under your television’s settings.

The local cable company is essentially taking these same broadcasts, compressing the picture quality and piping them into your home with a cable cord. If you use an antenna instead, the TV signal is less compressed and looks much better.

My guide on how to choose the best TV antenna takes you through the setup process step by step.

Watch NFC Championship online on fuboTV

fuboTV carries local FOX stations, ESPN and NFL Network as part of its entry-level channel bundle.

Big Ten Network, NFL Network, FS1 and FS2 are among its 120+ channels. You can quickly look over the local channel lineupin your area.

One cool thing about fuboTV is that it’s the only live TV streaming service with 4K streaming for select sporting events. There are no plans for streaming the NFC Championship in 4K, but you can look over the upcoming 4K schedule.

There are no contracts or obligations with fuboTV.

A subscription costs $64.99 per month, and includes 250 hours of Cloud DVR. You can watch live TV on up to three screens at once.

fuboTV has apps for just about any streaming device, including Roku, Amazon Fire TV and Android TV devices like Smart TVs and NVIDIA Shield TV.

You can also use your subscription to activate about 40 TV Everywhere apps. That means you will be able to stream FOX live in your channel lineup, and have full access to the FOX Sports Go app.

Look over fuboTV’s channel lineup in your area, or try out fuboTV free for 7-days.

Watch Bucs vs 49ersOnline with Hulu with Live TV

Hulu with Live TV carries local FOX, ABC, CBS and NBC stations across the U.S.

You get 65+ live channels, 50 hours of Cloud DVR, and premium networks such as ESPN, A&E, FS1 and Big Ten Network.

I suggest looking over what local channels will be in your lineup by scrolling to the bottom of Hulu’s screen.

Users can watch on up to two devices at once with a Roku, Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV. When you’re not at home, you can use iPhones and Android smartphones.

Subscribers also get unlimited access to Hulu’s on-demand streaming service that people pay $5.99 per month for.

So you’re essentially getting two streaming services for the price of one. You may even be paying for Hulu on-demand. Hulu Live also lets you activate 38 apps on a streaming device, including FOX Sports GO.

A subscription costs $64.99 per month. Hulu has a free 7-day trial that you can use even if you already subscribe to Hulu’s on-demand service.

Is the NFC Championship on Sling TV?

Sling TV offers local FOX stations in roughly 18 cities across the U.S.

Sling Blue has 47+ channels for $30 per month, including FOX in a number of markets.

Be aware that Sling TV has a smaller number of local channels across the U.S. compared to Hulu and fuboTV. So it’s really important to check that local listing that I mentioned above before signing up for a free trial.

This interactive map shows where Sling TV carries local FOX and NBC stations.

Sling TV has an app for just about any streaming device and a number of Smart TVs. By logging into your Sling TV account, you can watch the NFC Championship online too.

Sling TV has a free 3-day trial.

Packers vs 49ers live stream with AT&T TV

AT&T TV offers a FOX live stream in its entry-level Entertainment bundle

The Entertainment package has 65+ channels, 20 hours of Cloud DVR and 40,000 on-demand TV shows for $69.99 per month.

If you do sign up for AT&T TV, be sure to pick the “no contract” option.

You can watch on Roku, Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, iOS and Android smartphones.

Vidgo: Watch FOX without cable

Vidgo carries FOX as part of its core channel bundle.

This live TV service has apps for major streaming devices. But it also has a ‘watch party’ feature on its mobile app.

Vidgo has 85+ channels, including ESPN, ESPN Deportes, ABC, FOX and FS1.

You can watch live TV on a Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Android TV devices such as Google Chromecast. Subscribers can watch on up to three screens at once.

When you sign up for Vidgo, you’ll pay only $10 per month for the first two months. The regular price is $55 per month.

Get NFC Championship online with YouTube TV

With YouTube TV you will be able to live stream local channels like FOX and premium ones such as CNN and ESPN.

YouTube TV offers 85+ channels for $64.99 per month. It’s supported by most popular streaming devices, including Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Android TV devices.

The service is available nationwide and offers a 7-day free trial.

What’s the best way to watch the NFC Championship online?

I’ve just thrown a bunch of information at you. So let’s narrow down your choices to my top picks for watching the NFC Championship game this year.

fuboTV offers a pretty attractive channel package for sports fans with ESPN and NFL Network. Aside from getting FOX for the NFC game, you also get regional sports channels from NBCSN and entertainment channels such as A&E and HGTV.

Try out fuboTV free for a week, and see what you think.

fuboTV has apps for Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV and Android TV devices like NVIDIA Shield.

Hulu with Live TV is an equally good pick because you can get local FOX coverage, along with 50 hours of Cloud DVR and Hulu’s vast on-demand library of shows, movies and Hulu Originals.

Hulu has a free 7-day trial for its live TV service. You can sign up for the live TV free trial even if you already subscribe to Hulu’s on-demand streaming service.

fuboTV: 7-day free trial
Hulu + Live TV: 7-day free trial
