What streaming services carries Bally Sports Detroit?
DIRECTV STREAM is currently the only live TV streaming service that carries regional Bally Sports channels. FOX Sports Detroit was renamed to Bally Sports Detroit as of March 31, 2021. Subscribers can use an Amazon Fire TV Stick, Roku and Google Chromecast with Google TV.
Live Stream Detroit Red Wings Games on Roku, Fire TV
Bally Sports Detroit (formerly Fox Sports Detroit) used to be widely available on live TV streaming services.
Now DIRECTV STREAM is your only option for watching the Detroit Red Wings, the Pistons or Tigers without a cable provider.
The service costs more than other live TV streaming services that have ESPN and FS1.
The Choice plan, which carries 90+ channels, is $84.99 per month. Bally Sports Detroit is only available in Michigan, parts of northeastern Indiana, northwest Ohio and northeastern Wisconsin.
DIRECTV STREAM still has one advantage over paying for DIRECTV, DISH or Spectrum. Your subscription is month to month so you can cancel whenever you want.
So if you’re looking to cut the cord, but still watch NHL hockey or MLB games, you should consider whether its pros outweigh its cons.
Subscribers get three months of HBO Max free (a $45 value) before the $14.99-per-month rate kicks in.
The Choice plan has a wide variety of sports channels including ACC Network, Big Ten Network, ESPN, ESPN2, regional NBC Sports and SEC Network.
All of your local ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, Telemundo and Univision channels are included. And you get top cable TV channels such as ESPN, ESPN2, ACC Network, TNT, History, CNN and A&E.
And you don’t need to pay for a cable box.
DIRECTV STREAM launched with its own Android TV streaming device, but it now has apps for Roku, Amazon Fire TV, iPhones, web browsers, tablets and Samsung Smart TVs.
Why can’t I stream Bally Sports Detroit on Hulu or YouTube TV?
There was a time when regional FOX Sports channels were available on a number of live TV streaming services. That included Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV, fuboTV and YouTube TV.
These streaming services have yet to strike a long-term agreement with Sinclair Broadcast Group since the company took ownership of 21 regional Fox Sports networks in 2019.
