How to Stream FOX Sports South Live Without Cable

By Jim Kimble on January 14, 2021 4:17 pm

Watch Fox Sports South Live Stream

People once depended on DIRECTV or cable TV providers such as Spectrum to watch FOX Sports South live.

The good news is you don’t need cable TV or satellite service anymore to watch Atlanta Braves or Atlanta Hawks games.

The not-so good news is there is only one cord cutting option to stream Fox Sports South live. And it’s pricey.

If you live in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina or Tennessee, then you’ll want to look over this guide to consider whether it’s worth it.

AT&T TV costs $84.99 per month for 90+ channels. The service includes a free year of HBO Max (usually $14.99 per month) and NBA League Pass Premium ($250 per year).

ESPN, ESPN2, ACC Network, Big Ten Network, entertainment and news networks are included in the channel lineup. There’s 20 hours of Cloud DVR for recordings. You’re also getting an on-demand library of 45,000 titles.

Finding the right live streaming service for watching sports will depend on where you live and what you’d like to have for other channels. There are a number of ways to get popular channels such as ESPN and regional NBCSN sports networks.

What do I need to live stream Fox Sports South?

You may already have all the equipment you need to start live streaming Fox Sports South and all your other favorite channels.

If you own a Roku, Fire Stick, Smart TV, game console or Apple TV, you’re pretty much ready to start trying out different services for free.

Even if you only have a PC or a smartphone, most live streaming services let you use a web browser to get your live sports fix.

A decent Internet connection is also required. By the way, you don’t have to pay a lot to get Internet without cable. I’m paying about $30 per month right now and have all the Internet bandwidth that I need for streaming live TV.

No contract vs contract option

AT&T TV has one key advantage over paying for DIRECTV, DISH or Spectrum.

It now offers a no contract option so you can subscribe month to month and cancel whenever you want.

Subscribers get a wide variety of sports channels including ACC Network, Big Ten Network, ESPN, ESPN2, regional NBC Sports and SEC Network.

All of your local ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, Telemundo and Univision channels are included. And you get top cable TV channels such as ESPN, ESPN2, ACC Network, TNT, History, CNN and A&E.

And you don’t need to pay for a cable box.

If you do sign up, you should know that you have to choose the “no contract” option during the account setup process. It’s not automatic.

If you opt for a two year contract, then the price drops to $69.99 per month for the Choice plan.

Why can’t I stream Fox Sports West on Hulu or YouTube TV?

There was a time when regional FOX Sports channels were available on a number of live TV streaming services. That included Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV, fuboTV and YouTube TV.

These streaming services have yet to strike a long-term agreement with Sinclair Broadcast Group since the company took ownership of 21 regional Fox Sports networks in 2019.

The 2021 Baseball season is getting close. Is YoutubeTV in talks with Sinclair about carrying Fox SportSouth so we can watch the Braves like last year?

I read an article yesterday that indicated Sinclair is more focused on developing the FOX Sports app and possibly launching its own streaming service in late 2021. That doesn’t help for MLB season.

I’m monitoring things and will update these guides once I know something else is happening.
