New pact covers remainder of 2019-20 PGA TOUR season
ESPN+ will live stream featured-hole coverage from 12 PGA TOUR events this season.
The first event starts this weekend with the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas. Coverage will include the FedExCup Playoffs and the TOUR Championship, Sept. 6-7 in Atlanta.
A new agreement between ESPN+ and the PGA TOUR for featured-hole coverage was announced today.
For the remainder of the 2019-20 PGA TOUR Season, ESPN+ will stream coverage of two featured holes on Saturday and Sunday of each event, concurrent with the full telecast on CBS or NBC. The featured holes will be selected each day by the PGA TOUR.
PGA TOUR Schedule: Featured Holes
August 22-23 | FedExCup Playoffs: THE NORTHERN TRUST – Norton, MA (CBS)
August 29-30 | FedExCup Playoffs: BMW Championship – Olympia Fields, IL (NBC)
September 6-7 | FedExCup Playoffs: TOUR Championship – Atlanta, GA (NBC)
What is featured-hole coverage?
Generally speaking, featured-hole coverage shows different camera angles of players on certain holes. The featured-hole coverage will happen simultaneously with the live broadcasts on CBS or NBC.
Back in March, the PGA Tour finalized an agreement that made ESPN+ the new home of the PGA Tour Live in 2022. The deal will bring “multiple live content channels nearly every week of the FedExCup season.”
