Sling TV’s Premium Pass blitz lasts a week
Sling TV is offering a free month of Showtime, STARZ and Epix Now to new customers.
The “Premium Pass” blitz from Sling TV began on Saturday morning. Any new customer that signs up for a Sling Orange, Sling Blue or a combined Orange and Blue channel bundle gets the three premium channels free for a month.
A subscription to the Sling Orange or Blue channel bundle costs $30 per month. So new customers should expect to pay for at least a month of service to enjoy the three premium channels for free.
Sling TV said in today’s announcement that existing customers who are within 30 days of their next bill date will be automatically upgraded to the Premium Pass.
That’s good news in terms of having an expanded library of movies and TV shows.
Sling TV says its on-demand library has over 85,000 TV shows and movies. The free access to Showtime comes days after the hit series Billions began its fifth season on May 3.

Premium Pass: What You Need to Know
A potential gotcha for cord cutters is that if you don’t cancel Showtime, STARZ and EPIX Now from your account before the 30-day free trial, then you’ll be billed for each service. Sling explicitly states in its offer: “If you do not cancel online, you will be charged monthly for SHOWTIME ($10), STARZ ($9) and EPIX ($5).”
It doesn’t take much effort to cancel. The trick is remembering. (PRO TIP: I set up a reminder on my smart phone calendar.)
The Premium Pass promotion only lasts one week, ending on May 23, according to the company.
Signing up is easy. Just go to sling.com and pick a channel bundle. Read over the new Sling TV review to learn more about channel bundles, device compatibility and number of simultaneous streams.
