What are the scariest episodes of AHS?

New to AHS? Here are a few of the scariest episodes from my perspective.

  1. Asylum – Season 2, Episode 10 (“The Name Game”): This episode is a terrifying journey into the depths of madness within the Briarcliff Asylum. I was unnerved by the bizarre musical number and the chaos that ensued. It blurred the lines between reality and delusion, making me question the sanity of the characters and my own.
  2. Murder House – Season 1, Episode 11 (“Birth”): “American Horror Story” reached new levels of horror in this episode as the Harmon family faced the birth of a truly malevolent child. The supernatural elements and intense emotional turmoil kept me up at night.
  3. Freak Show – Season 4, Episode 10 (“Orphans”): “Orphans” delves into the backstory of Pepper, one of the show’s most beloved characters. It’s a heart-wrenching and disturbing exploration of her life and the mistreatment she endured. It reminded me that real-life horrors can be just as frightening as the supernatural.
  4. Cult – Season 7, Episode 9 (“Drink the Kool-Aid”): This episode was particularly chilling because it delved into the psychology of a cult leader and his followers. It showcased the manipulation and extremism that can take hold in seemingly ordinary communities, making me question the fragility of society.
  5. Roanoke – Season 6, Episode 6 (“Chapter 6”): “Roanoke” took a unique approach by blurring the lines between a reality show and the supernatural. This episode, in particular, left me feeling disoriented and terrified as the true nature of the horrors in the Roanoke house unfolded.
