How to Live Stream AMC Online: The Definitive Guide (2018)
AMC is one of easiest networks to stream without cable. That’s because in 2018 more live TV streaming services added AMC Networks to its channel lineup. So whether you’re a fan of “The Walking Dead” or “Better Call Saul”, now you can spend as little as $16 per month to live stream AMC.
Having a subscription to a live TV streaming service can also get you on-demand access to your favorite AMC series in more than one way.
This guide aims to be the most comprehensive rundown of all your options to watch AMC live without cable or a satellite TV subscription.
My top pick right now for streaming AMC is through Philo because it’s the cheapest option out there. Like all streaming services, Philo offers a free 7-day trial. But since streaming device support on Philo is limited to Roku, I’m going to show you how to watch AMC live on Apple TV, Android TV devices, Fire TV and Fire Sticks.
Where is there an AMC live stream?
AMC is currently offered on six live TV streaming services.
AMC Networks owns and operates AMC, BBC America, IFC, Sundance TV, WE tv and streaming platforms like Sundance Now and Shudder. So if you do join a live TV streaming service, there’s an excellent chance you’ll see some or all of these other networks in your channel lineup.
What shows are on AMC?
You’re probably aware that “The Walking Dead” and older well-known shows like “Breaking Bad” come from AMC. But there are newer shows that are only a couple of seasons in, or haven’t gotten as much buzz that are worth exploring.
“Dietland” starring Julianna Margulies is already getting a lot of positive attention from reviewers and TV critics. There’s an Aug. 6 premiere date for Season 4 of “Better Call Saul” along with the premier of “Lodge 49”. Here’s a list of other shows within the AMC Networks wheelhouse.

DirecTV Now offers a way to live stream AMC and 59 other channels for $35 per month. The “Live a Little” channel bundle has AMC, A&E, BBC America, Bravo, ESPN, History, Investigation Discovery and FOX Sports 1 in its lineup.
There are three other channel bundles that offer between 80+ and 120+ channels. And you can stream on up to two devices at once.
DirecTV Now has apps for Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, and Fire Stick. But it’s really one of the best live TV streaming services if you’re someone who watches live TV on an iPhone or Android smartphone. So if you’re not at home and suddenly realize that “Into the Badlands” is on, you can start watching from wherever you are.
Having a DirecTV Now subscription also means you can stream all the full episodes and other on-demand content that’s on the AMC app. You can also live stream AMC from its app when you sign in with your DirecTV Now account.
Parent company AT&T is in the process of rolling out its Cloud DVR service after releasing a beta version to a small number of customers.
I’ve used DirecTV Now in the past, and I’ve been pleased with its user interface and huge on-demand movie selection.
You can look over the DirecTV Now channel lineup, or sign up for a free 7-day trial. Just cancel before the end of the trial if you’re not interested in the service.
By the way, DirecTV Now will give you a Roku Streaming Stick if you pay for two months of service. The better deal is paying for three months because DirecTV Now will give you an Apple TV, valued at $170.
Watch AMC online with fuboTV
If you’re a diehard soccer fan or need PAC-12 Networks in your channel lineup, then getting a subscription to fuboTV to live stream AMC makes a lot of sense.
The 80+ live channels in a fuboTV subscription includes beIN Sports, A&E, History Channel, USA Network, National Geographic and SyFy Network.
fuboTV added AMC, BBC America, IFC, Sundance TV and WE tv to its entry-level channel lineup back in March. The company has also been making a big push to add local CBS, FOX and NBC stations throughout the U.S. this year. fuboTV has up to 36 channels that carry sports and carries 80 percent of all regional sports networks in the U.S. A subscription costs $44.99 per month.
You can try out fuboTV free for 7-days. The regular monthly rate kicks in after that. fuboTV works on Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV and just about every major streaming device.
Stream AMC live on Philo
If you own a Roku, signing up for Philo to get an AMC live stream makes a lot of sense.
You can get 37 channels, including Animal Planet, axsTV, Discovery and HGTV for just $16 per month. It’s the cheapest live TV streaming service around. And it comes with unlimited Cloud DVR. So you don’t have to pay something like $150 per month to Comcast or Spectrum for the pleasure of watching “Preacher” whenever you want.
At the moment, Philo only supports live streaming on Roku devices, PC , Macs and iOS devices via a mobile app. You can add 9 more channels, including MTV Live for another $4 per month. Some people who own Fire TV and Apple TV have been subscribing to Philo so they can sign in to apps and either live stream AMC through the app, or watch shows on-demand. Philo supports TV Everywhere access for a number of other streaming devices, including Apple TV, Xbox One and Android TV devices.
I’m currently using Philo to live stream AMC and some other favorite channels like BBC America, and I’m very happy with the service. You can read my review of Philo, or check out the channel selection for yourself.
You can sign up for a free 7-day trial of Philo in less than a minute by using your mobile number.
Get AMC Online with PlayStation Vue
PlayStation Vue is known as a reliable way to get an AMC live stream without having to subscribe to cable. The Access bundle costs $39.99 per month and offers AMC and about 47 other live channels.
Subscribers to the Access bundle also get FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2, Disney Channel, National Geographic, ESPN and Investigation Discovery. PlayStation Vue offers a free 5-day trial. Read my review of PlayStation Vue for more details about the service.
Live Stream AMC with Sling TV
You can add 50 hours of Cloud DVR for another $5 per month. A number of smaller add-on bundles for more sports, movies or niche programming range between $5 and $10 per month.
Sling TV works on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Fire Stick, Chromecast and Apple TV. Sign up for a free 7-day trial of Sling TV, and simply cancel online if you decide the service isn’t for you. There’s no obligations or contracts with live TV streaming.
YouTube TV: Watch AMC Online
YouTube TV has an AMC live stream in its channel lineup, and costs $40 per month. You’ll get roughly 73 channels including familiar networks like Bravo, Disney Channel, ESPN, FX, NBCSN and TNT.

Are AMC shows on Netflix or Hulu?
You’ll find more AMC shows on Netflix than Hulu. Netflix carries all past seasons of “The Walking Dead”, “Breaking Bad”, “Better Call Saul” and others. Hulu currently has two seasons of “Preacher”, Season 1 of “The Son” and “Fear of the Walking Dead”. You can try out Hulu for free if you’re looking to catch up on AMC shows that are exclusive to them.
What’s the best way to get an AMC Live Stream?
Philo is the cheapest option if you’re a Roku owner because you’ll only have to pay $16 per month. You’ll also get access to the AMC app to stream any episodes that you forgot to mark to record in your Cloud DVR. Try out Philo free for a week by signing up with your smartphone number.
DirecTV Now is best for flexibility – watching at home on a Roku, or while you’re on the run using an iPhone or Android smartphone. The channel lineup is about the same as what you’d see with a typical cable subscription.
I’d also seriously consider getting an Apple TV from DirecTV Now by prepaying for three months of service, or at least the Roku Streaming Stick by paying for one month of service. You don’t have to keep your subscription after that. If you don’t need a new streaming device, you can always just sign up for a free 7-day trial of DirecTV Now.
