New York sports fans can now watch YES Network without cable through DIRECTV STREAM, Fubo or the YES app.

YES Network (Yankee Entertainment and Sports Network) broadcasts New York Yankees and Brooklyn Nets games, but these in-market games are only accessible to viewers in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and northeastern Pennsylvania.

While YES Network is not available on YouTube TV, Hulu Live TV, or Sling TV, you can start streaming Yankees and Nets games on Fubo, DIRECTV STREAM and the YES app.

For those living in the NYC TV Market, subscribing to Fubo or DIRECTV STREAM means getting local channels such as ABC (WABC-TV, Channel 7), NBC (WNBC-TV, Channel 4), CBS (WCBS-TV, Channel 2), and FOX (WNYW-TV, Channel 5).

I hope you will forgive that I am a cord-cutting Red Sox fan who has been streaming NESN since 2017 back when PlayStation Vue was a thing. In the spirit of goodwill, I’m here to give you some direction on how to get YES Network without being tied to the pricing of a cable or satellite package.

The most cost-effective method is a subscription to the YES app. A YES app subscription costs $24.99 per month or $239.99 annually, granting access to all live games from the New York Yankees, Brooklyn Nets, and New York Liberty.

DIRECTV STREAM Choice has more than 105 channels for $99.99 per month. Choice subscribers get unlimited Cloud DVR for recording TV shows and sporting events. You don’t need a cable or satellite receiver box. And there are no added fees for the regional sports channels.

On top of that, Choice has harder-to-find regional sports channels such as MSG Network, and SportsNet New York

DIRECTV STREAM Ultimate Plan: Streaming YES Network and NBA TV

  1. Who wants to start a suit about all these issues….I asked my cousin in NJ where I am moving back to. He said it is a bit beyond his expertise and probably a tough area to challenge….I guess we could march across Macombs Bridge 🙂 My issue is that in PA just the Lehigh Valley could get Mlbtv for watching the Yankees and whole season only $149…but my sisters in Poconos were blacked out from it…crazy so we couldn’t watch together like we use to commenting back and forth during the game. Moving to NJ means no more MLBtv for Yankees because I am “in market”. Crazy. I would have to get Directv choice streaming because my condo community only has Service Electric. so the season would cost close to 1K if we make October.

  2. I have Amazon fire tv and I have been trying to watch the Yankee’s game for two weeks but MLB channel doesn’t cover it I live in Delaware why can’t I get it on regular tv. I don’t want to pay for it when the season is almost over

  3. I am a die hard Yankees fan that lives in Missouri, signed with MLB and Yes channel but I have a bunch of blackout it made not sense and they have a lot of games on the YES app is near impossible to follow unless you pay more , any suggestions please

    • Do you use a VPN?? If so and you have it set to New York try changing the city to Chicago and this should eliminate your blackout problem. If you do not use a VPN then I do not know the answer. I hope this helps.

  4. It’s so despairing. I only want baseball and news and local channels. I shouldn’t have to subsidize so called premier channels and Hallmark channels. I am angry about this. For households with only 1 or 2 people it shouldn’t cost this much to watch The Yankees if you live in NYC. It is exceptionally greedy.

  5. I was told today by AT&T that the only way to get YES Network with AT&T TV is to get the Premier package, which is $129.99 / month.

  6. if you get MLB at bat and are a student or ex military you can subscribe to a $75.00 per year rate and that gets you most Yes network Yankee TV and Radio broadcasts . You also can get most other team broadcasts home and away. Comes to about $7.50 per month. Non student is about $100.00 per year. Best MLB baseball deal out there bar none!!!

  7. Still haven’t found a place in Delaware, where I get the full channel of YES. I do get it now with Verizon, but I’ve had to pay an extra $50 just to get this channel, along with other channels, but my YES channel blackouts all of the games.

    • It depends on where you live. Keep in mind, YES Network is a regional network. Also with Vue in particular, you should double check that it has your correct zip code listed. When I had Vue, sometimes it would switch zip codes on its own, and carve out local channels that should be included in your subscription.

  8. But if you get sling for the whole baseball season, it isn’t cheaper. 6 months of baseball would be more than the baseball package for all teams. Now, you definitely get more for your money with sling for six months, but if you’re just trying to watch the Yankees play all games I feel like the better option would be the baseball package.

  9. We had Sling last year exclusively for the YES Network. Cancelled last fall and restarted it a few weeks ago. No YES Network on either my Roku or my AppleTV. Multiple calls to customer service. They agree I should have YES per my zip code and IP address. They have been unable to fix the issue and refuse to refund my money. I would stay away from Sling if all you are wanting it for is YES.
