Watch Hallmark Channel Without Cable

There’s never been more ways to watch Hallmark Channel, and its sister network Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on the cheap.

You can actually check out popular shows like “Home & Family” or a mystery movie like “Darrow & Darrow” free for a limited time. And you don’t even need a cable or satellite subscription.

This guide will quickly show you how to watch Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Drama and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on your TV, iPhone or favorite streaming device like a Roku.  The only way to get all three Hallmark networks without cable, including Hallmark Drama, is through Sling TV. You can check out Sling TV with a free 7-day trial.

Hallmark networks will debut 90 new movies in 2018. The hit show When Calls the Heart will start its fifth season on Feb. 18, and four new “Garage Sale Mystery” movies will begin airing in August. “Meet the Peetes” will also premier that day.

So it’s a good time to get busy with binge watching the Hallmark Channel without cable.

Watch Hallmark Channel without cable

There are a growing number of live TV streaming platforms that carry Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Not so long ago, you had to subscribe to a cable or satellite company like DirecTV to get your fix of Lacey Chabot fare.

What is a live streaming platform? It’s basically an alternative to popular cable packages offered by Comcast, Spectrum and others that cost a lot less. Instead of getting a feed of channels through your cable cord, they’re coming to you over the Internet. That allows you to watch live TV through a Roku, smartphone or PC.

DirecTV Now, Sling TV, PlayStation Vue and fuboTV are among these live TV streaming TV companies that offer Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

There are a few advantages to using a live TV streaming service instead of cable or satellite. You can easily cancel your service online if you don’t want it anymore. No more dealing with customer service reps on the phone.

Some cord cutters even jump from live streaming platform to another just so they can have a certain set of channels when a new season of a favorite show comes on the air.

Most of these companies have a free weeklong trial, so you can see if it’s a good fit for you without having to pay anything. So long as you have an Internet connection and a streaming device like a Roku or Amazon Fire TV or Fire Stick, you’re ready to go. There are a number of good ways to get Internet without a cable provider, or to negotiate a better price if that’s an obstacle for you.

Watch Hallmark Channel on DirecTV Now

If you want to watch Hallmark Channel on TV or on your iPhone while you’re away from home, then get DirecTV Now.

The Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries are part of a 60+ channel bundle that costs only $35 per month. You also get HGTV, Baby First, Discovery, Fox News Channel, Investigation Discovery and Lifetime in your channel lineup.

Hallmark Channel is offered across all four of DirecTV Now’s channel bundle. But if you want Hallmark Movies & Mysteries as well, then you better stick with the entry-level “Live A Little” package.

You can use your DirecTV Now account to sign in to about 54 TV Everywhere apps for networks like A&E and LOGO. DirecTV Now works with all major streaming devices, including Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Chromecast.

You can try out DirecTV Now free for 7-days. Be sure to hop online and cancel before the trial ends if you want to avoid being billed.

fuboTV: Watch Hallmark Channel with a live stream

fuboTV has Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries in its entry-level channel lineup. So don’t be fooled into thinking that fuboTV is only about college football, NASCAR and MMA fighting. The live streaming platform is aimed at sports fans, but there’s plenty of entertainment channels.

A&E, Bravo, HGTV, Travel Channel, National Geographic, Oxygen Network, Food Network, Lifetime Movies and Fox News are part of a 80+channel bundle. Did I mention that Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries are included?

fuboTV includes 30 hours of Cloud DVR with a subscription.

You will get a cross section of channels that you may already be watching on cable. Similar to DirecTV Now, you can use your subscription to sign in to TV Everywhere apps, including the Hallmark Channel app. fuboTV has apps for pretty much every streaming device, but the company recently did two big overhauls to their apps on Roku and Apple TV. A subscription costs $44.99 per month.

Check out fuboTV free for 7-days. Bonus tip: you can add Showtime to your free trial at no extra cost. Read my review of fuboTV for a more detailed overview of their service.

PlayStation Vue: Live Stream Hallmark Channel

PlayStation Vue offers the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries as part of its Elite channel bundle. The Elite bundle gives you 90+ channels for $54.99 per month. Big Ten Network, Fusion, IFC, ESPN, Golf Channel, SyFy and Discovery Family are part of a pretty diverse channel lineup.

PlayStation Vue has an app for Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and of course, works on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 game consoles. You can try out PlayStation Vue free for 5-days.

Watch all three Hallmark channels on Sling TV

Sling TV is the one live streaming service where you can get all three Hallmark networks. That includes Hallmark Drama, Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. It’s also one of the least expensive options around.

You can sign up for the Sling Orange channel bundle, which gives you 30 channels for $20 per month. You’ll need to add the Lifestyle channel bundle to get all three Hallmark networks for another $5 per month. So for $25 per month, you’ll have 43 channels including A&E, AMC, Disney Channel, ESPN, Food Network, HGTV, TBS, TNT and Travel Channel.

Sling Blue offers 45 channels including Bravo, Lifetime and History Channel for $25 per month. You’ll have to add the Lifestyle channel bundle with Sling Blue to get all your Hallmark networks. If you want to record a show or movie, you can get 50 hours of Cloud DVR for $5 per month.

Sling TV works on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and even PCs and smartphones.

Sling TV offers a free 7-day trial, but that won’t include Hallmark networks because each channel is part of an add-on package.

But if you’re pretty sure that you’re joining Sling TV to get all three Hallmark networks, you should look over their offers to get a free streaming device or TV antenna by prepaying for two months. Like the other streaming services mentioned above, you’re under no obligation to stick with your subscription.

What’s the best way to watch Hallmark Channel without cable?

Sling TV is the only live TV streaming service where you can watch Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Drama and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. So if you’re a fan of all three channels, I’d suggest trying out Sling TV free for 7-days first to see if it’s a good fit for you. If you end up subscribing, then you can add on the Lifestyle channel bundle to get all three Hallmark networks. You can also take advantage of their offers for a free streaming device or TV antenna

If the Hallmark Drama channel doesn’t matter as much, fuboTV is worth trying out free for a week. fuboTV carries Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries as part of its 80+ channel bundle. Don’t forget that you can include Showtime for free as part of your 7-day trial.

If you decide live TV streaming is not for you, just be sure to cancel online before the trial period ends so you don’t get billed.

9 Comments on How to Watch Hallmark Channel Without Cable

  1. You can not view Hallmark movies or Channel unless you subscribe to a provider of some sort be it cable or on line provider. You can not subscribe to Hallmark directly. I wish we could, but we can not! You must pay a price for a provider regardless of what anyone says. You pay Sling $20.00 / month then $4.99 / month for Hallmark! This should be made clear to all.

  2. The “cut the cord” companies suggest you can buy packages without all the needless channels; however, it’s really no different than cable. You have to buy the “package” in order to get Hallmark… too bad you can’t just select the channels you really want. I don’t need the packages–just Hallmark. So, the question becomes–is Hallmark worth $25/month ($300/year)?

  3. I agree/concur with you 100%. I like Hallmark and you have to pay a high price for cable service for channels you do not watch or just trash stations for $30-$50 a month. You should be able to select your channels for your price point base on an a la carte menu and not what the cable companies push on customers. I finally cut the cord and cancelled DIRECTV after many years (who has awful customer service). I may try Amazon Fire TV.

    • I looked into it, thinking I could that instead of Sling. No. It has very limited, older, what they pick content. Hallmark is not affliated with Now. Its not for same content as what’s on cable. And Sling is now,$25 + $5 for Lifestyle pkg. So these guys are heading same direction as cable…..not good for consumer.

  4. I am going to be really sad to lose the Hallmark Movie & Mystery channel; it’s one of my favorites and one of the few I would be willing to pay a monthly fee to the network directly to have access to it. As many others have already pointed out it defeats the purpose of leaving cable TV if I then have to sign up for a bunch of streaming packages I don’t want to be able to see the few I do want. Maybe someday we’ll actually get ala carte services.

  5. I cut the cable cord and no longer get my beloved Hallmark movies. I, too, do not want to just keep adding packages. I already pay $14/month for Amazon Prime Video as itgives me music, Alexa, and free shipping for Amazon. I do not want to have to add another package. So, goodbye Hallmark. Can Hallmark do anything about this (like have a Hallmark only package?

  6. I will subscribe to Sling for Nov & Dec to watch the Christmas movies on Hallmark and then cancel.

I watch so little TV that I would gladly pay $10 a month for something like Hallmark Movies Now if they put all the movies they produced on it.

Sadly we will never have true ala carte pricing.
