Sling TV offers free trials for new, existing customers to celebrate 2nd birthday

Sling TV offers to include trials for HBO and Starz for existing customers

Sling TV CEO Roger Lynch announced that new Sling TV customers will be able to try Sling Orange for free this weekend.

The free trial is happening during the mid-season premiere for The Walking Dead.

Lynch said the trial is Sling TV’s way of ringing in its second birthday on Thursday. He announced the news today during a live session on Periscope.

The free trial begins on Saturday when new customers can try Sling Orange. Viewers just need to go to and sign up.

You will be able to start streaming at 9 a.m. on Saturday. That allows viewers to either take in AMC’s The Walking Dead marathon or some college and pro-basketball games. Notre Dame vs Florida State happens at 2 p.m. on ESPN and Oklahoma City vs. Golden State face off at 8:30 p.m.

Existing customers will get a neat thank you as well, according to Lynch. Free previews of HBO and Starz will be happening for existing Sling TV subscribers later in the month.

Lynch said that beta DVR for Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV and Android mobile will roll out “very soon.”

He said that the company as a lot planned for 2017.

Some of it we’ve already been able to hear about.

Sling TV revealed at CES 2017 that it was breaking into the streaming box market with its own dedicated device, the AirTV Player.

The 4K streaming box promises to combine Sling TV channels and over-the-air (OTA) channels into a single menu. It also has apps for Netflix and YouTube.

A beta version of the menu was shown at CES 2017, but it has yet to be included with the new AirTV Player.
