Our picks for the best movies playing on Epix Hits this winter include action, drama and even a documentary. If you are a PlayStation Vue subscriber, check out what’s on demand this season.

You can simply peruse the Explore section on the menu at the top of the screen. You can now also watch some Epix Hits movies on the road with your PC or Mac. These on demand choices are for when you’re at home.

We will be updating this list through the winter. Epix Hits currently has 491 movies and 525 programs on-demand on PlayStation Vue as of this writing. Here are a few gems that we really like.

To Live and Die in L.A.
(1985) Action, Crime, Drama

A Secret Service agent becomes obsessed to take down the man who killed his partner, a master counterfeiter played by William Dafoe.

American Beauty
(1999) Drama

A sexually frustrated father played by Kevin Spacey has a mid-life crisis, dumps his lousy job and becomes infatuated with his daughter’s best friend. Directed by Sam Mendes.


Leaving Las Vegas
(1995) Drama

Nicholas Cage plays a Hollywood screenwriter who loses everything and decides to drink himself to death in Las Vegas. His plan gets complicated when he meets Sera, a prostitute played by Elisabeth Shue.


David Ortiz: In the Moment
(2014) Documentary, Sports

The man known as Big Papi retired from the Red Sox this year. This documentary chronicles his path from the Dominican Republic to becoming one of the biggest names in baseball. He was also the much needed voice of strength after the Boston Marathon bombing.
