Some no-brainer gift ideas for the not-so-tech-savvy Dad

If you’re like me, finding the right gift for Father’s Day is always a struggle. We’ve gathered up some great deals from around the web to help you out with what to get Dad, especially if he’s not all that tech savvy and could use some help.

The new Roku Streaming Stick that was released in April is now being offered for $39. A streaming stick is no brainer whether your Dad is a cord cutter or not because it opens up his television to thousands of apps, movies and shows that aren’t in his current rotation of programs. If he already subscribes to Amazon Prime for free two day shipping, you may want to get him an Amazon Fire Stick with a voice remote as a subtle heads up on the thousands of shows, free music and Kindle books that are also part of his subscription.

The voice remote for the Fire Stick and the Amazon Fire TV is about to get the ability to control up to 59 apps and functions, including Netflix, Hulu and HBO Now.

Is he always complaining about the cruddy WiFi reception at one end of the house? Get him a Wi-Fi range extender that will blast the signal through the house and out into the backyard this summer.

The TP-Link AC1200 is among the most highly rated by customers on Amazon. It works with any Wi-Fi router, handles the largest feeds of Mbps on the market and even has an Ethernet port to plug into for wired devices.

If his home office needs some sprucing up, the TaoTronics Elune Dimmable LED Desk Lamp is a sharp looking, sophisticated alternative. This is normally priced at $79.99, but Amazon is offering it at $39.99 now.

Consider the Amazon Tap if he’s a music buff. The voice-command technology will let him holler out his favorite artist or song, and Tap will delve into the vast music catalogs from Prime Music, Spotify, iHeartRadio and TuneIn. I’m personally a big fan of my Amazon Echo, which plays all my music, keeps me up to date with the day’s news and even the current balance in my bank account. The Echo also has some remarkable options that allow users to control house lights, switches and thermostats with compatible WeMo, Phillips Hue and other smart home devices. Amazon is always adding new features to the Echo, and has over 1,000 since the device was launched.

This one is for the Dad’s who knows their tech. Is he a gamer? Electronic Arts has Titanfall 2 Deluxe Edition this week for $79.99. You can also save up to 75% off of bestselling PC games with Origin’s Infinite Gaming Sale. Hurry before the sale ends!
